RHA Senate votes Samantha Briggs for next President, Michelle Ameyaw for Vice President
|
April 9 -- The Maryland Residence Hall Association voted Samantha Briggs, a current junior, as RHA President for the 2024-2025 school year. Michelle Ameyaw, a current sophomore, was voted as Vice President.
Biggs is pursuing a Government & Politics (International Relations) major and Sustainability + Law & Society minors. She currently serves on the RHA's Executive Board as the Chief of Internal Affairs. Briggs also served as RHA's Sustainability Coordinator last year and the Vice President of Sustainability her freshman year in Hagerstown Hall.
"I am elated for this opportunity to expand my role as a student leader and be a voice for on-campus Terps," said Briggs.
Ameyaw is pursuing a biological sciences (physiology + neural biology) major with a human development minor. She currently serves as a Senator-At-Large on RHA's Senate. During her freshman year (last year), Ameyaw served as a RHA senator for the South Hill Area Council before taking over as a Senator-At-Large.
"I am incredibly touched and I'm super excited to mentor and empower the next generation of leaders," said Ameyaw.

Greetings!
It is my pleasure to pass the torch to Sam Briggs and Michelle Ameyaw as President and Vice President, respectively. I am grateful to have served as President this year alongside Quentin, our Vice President, and believe that we are leaving the organization in good hands. From RHArcade, Cultural Clothing Day, Care Packages, and Earthfest to the upcoming Year-End Reception, we have planned impactful events to bring the campus and RHA closer together.
Through legislation, we have supported micromobility safety protocols, expansion of sexual health and academic resources, and sustainability programs for on-campus residents. I'm extremely proud of the work the executive board and our phenomenal councils have done this year and cannot wait to see what RHA does next year. I hope to see you all at future events and around campus!
